Clinics

If you have a chronic condition such as Diabetes or Asthma it is important to have regular check ups at least once a year.

Family Planning

A comprehensive and confidential service is available, including pill, coils, emergency contraception and other methods. Our Practice Nurses or any of the doctors will be able to give you advice and treatment.

Antenatal Care

We are pleased to provide maternity care with our Community Midwives. We also provide pre-conceptual as well as antenatal and postnatal care

Mother and Baby

A drop-in clinic for advice and weight checking. Vaccinations for all children up to age 5.

Breast Screening

All women aged 50-70 will be offered routine mammography (xrays of the breasts). This is done in 3 yearly cycles, invitations sent by post. If you suspect anything is wrong please consult a Doctor as soon as possible. You should self-examine your breasts at least monthly for lumps and other changes.

Asthma and COPD

Regular check-ups and advice from practice nurses on lifestyle, inhaler techniques and medication.

Vaccinations

Flu: We run a flu jab clinic during October. Ask at Reception for further information.
Baby, Pre-School and School vaccination programmes are all undertaken at the surgery. The Practice Nurse will advise you.

Travel Clinic

Immunisations may be recommended when travelling abroad. Modern vaccines are safe and well tolerated. Our Practice Nurses are kept up to date by World Health Organisation recommendations. It is often necessary to commence these injections several weeks before departure. Some travel vaccinations are not provided by the NHS and there is a charge for this service. A form detailing your requirements is available from Reception.
Malaria tablets are not available on the NHS, please speak to a Practice Nurse for advice.

Diabetes

Regular reviews are provided by Practice Nurses and our Doctors

Hypertension

Our nursing team undertakes regular blood pressure reviews supported by the team of Doctors as part of general medical care.

Minor Surgery

We are fortunate in having a trained GP to perform minor surgery at the Practice. Our team will refer to him for removal of skin lesions and joint injections.

Cervical Screening

Recommended for women aged 25-50 at 3 yearly intervals and aged 51-65 at 5 yearly intervals. Patients are recalled by post and similarly receive results by letter. Practice nurses normally carry out the examinations although all our GP’s are trained to take smears. This is routine screening only. If you suspect anything abnormal please consult us as soon as possible.
